A March To Art: Community

Following our successful inaugural exhibition A March to Art: Identity, the Australian National Veterans Arts Museum is set to hold our next exhibition commencing on 25 March near Anzac House in Melbourne.

This years free exhibition, March to Art: Community, builds on the theme of Identity in the 2017 exhibition, which was awarded a Highly Commended in the 2017 VicHealth Awards. The theme of Identify sought to expose a challenge faced by many veterans, especially at times of transition.

March to Art: Community showcases the work of 10 current and ex-serving veterans and their relationship to community. Once again curated by Bruce Copland, with the support of Tanja Johnston, the exhibition brings together work from across Australia  including Darwin, Adelaide, Sydney, Canberra, Beechworth and Melbourne.

The veteran artists represent service with the Royal Australian Navy, Australian Army and Royal Australian Air Force including Vietnam and Afghanistan Wars, East Timor and border protection operations.

Art works include painting, photography and works on paper.

Veteran artist Sean Burton will feature as artist-in-residence during the exhibition.
