The Australian National Veterans Arts Museum (ANVAM) held an exhibition of veterans art, March to Art: Community, from 25 March to 25 April. Curated by Bruce Copland the exhibition brought together work from across Australia including Darwin, Adelaide, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and regional Victoria.

The veteran artists represented service with the Royal Australian Navy, Australian Army and Royal Australian Air Force including those who served in Vietnam, Afghanistan, East Timor and Border Protection operations.

Art works include painting, photography and works on paper.

Veteran artist Sean Burton will featured as artist-in-residence during the exhibition. Sean Burton’s #thelostcompany is a visually powerful arts installation highlighting the high rate of veteran suicide.

Veteran artists include:

  • Michael Armstrong

  • Daniel Cooper

  • Rory Cushnahan

  • Chad Dobbs

  • Bethany Gallagher

  • David Gillard

  • Geoffrey Jones

  • Clare Randall
