Volunteer

ANVAM welcomes volunteers from the community to join the growing band of committed veterans contributing to ANVAM as a cultural institution in a range of areas. The following volunteer and pro-bono opportunities are currently available.

Volunteer

  • Arts Programs Operations (APO). Supporting the Head of Arts Programs, the APO will assist in the coordination and administration of a range of arts engagement activities.

  • Board Chair. As ANVAM moves into its next phase the board seeks expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced senior candidates for the role of chair. The chair will work closely with the director in promoting ANVAM more broadly in the mental health, arts and veterans policy domains.

  • Collections & Cataloging Manager. ANVAM has a growing collection of works by members of the veteran community that requires part-time management to catalogue it and oversee its conservation as well as to support the borrowing of artworks by external organisations. This activity will predominantly be located at ANVAM’s storage facility in Southbank, Melbourne.

  • Communications Manager. Managing the external face of ANVAM in partnership with the head of engagement, the communications manager develops and coordinates ANVAM’s brand as well as engagement with the media including social media and internal communications channels.

  • Social Media Coordinator. Working across ANVAM’s range of operations, and particularly in support of promoting the veterans’ arts community and ANVAM’s work, the communications and social media manager will lead the content development directed toward the media and/or social media platforms.

  • Head of Engagement. An executive role reporting to the director, this role joins the others in the executive team leading ANVAM’s engagement across the veteran community, the arts sector and with research and educational partners.

  • Fundraising Manager. Working closely with the executive this role will focus on preparing and managing government and philanthropic grants.

  • Graphics Design Coordinator. To support ANVAM in promoting its growing program of veterans’ arts, including exhibitions, publications, newsletters, website and social media, the graphics designer will help mature ANVAM’s brand through innovative use of graphics and imagery.

  • Historian / Archivist. This role will document ANVAM’s emerging history as well as research the historical and contemporary veterans arts community, and the history of 310 St Kilda Rd.

  • Media Coordinator. Working closely with the web and social media team, the media manager will generate a range of video productions promoting ANVAM’s work and veterans arts more generally.

  • Newsletter Coordinator. Working across ANVAM to generate a regular newsletter about the comings and goings of ANVAM and the veteran arts community and managing the newsletter distribution list.

  • Volunteer Manager. This high profile role actively looks for roles volunteers can file, seeks to match roles with volunteers and ensures that volunteers are engaged.

  • Web Coordinator. Working closely with the newsletter coordinator, social media and media managers the web manager will keep ANVAM’s website current and relevant to the veteran community and other stakeholder groups interested in veterans, the arts and mental health.

Internships. ANVAM welcomes expressions of interest from undergraduate and post-graduate interns interested in the fields including, but not limited to, curation, events coordination, conservation, collections management, art history, graphic design, media management, marketing and online retailing.

Pro-Bono

  • Legal Advisor. ANVAM invites the pro-bono support of a legal advisor to provide ad-hoc support and advice related to a range of charitable activities.
