A collaboration between ANVAM, photographer Michael Christofas and the veteran arts community, Persona showcases portraits of veteran artists within their creative spaces. Persona has been designed across three formats. These include a touring exhibition, an online showcase, and a hardcover titled Persona: Contemporary Veterans Artists: Volume 1.

With the support of the Queensland Government the touring exhibition, curated by Tanja Johnston, has travelled Queensland’s coast during 2023/24. These include stops at The Oasis Townsville and the Tanks Arts Centre, Cairns. The final launch, hosted by the Queensland Maritime Museum, presents an exciting opportunity to both view the project and enjoy an afternoon of veteran creativity at the accompanying veteran artist pop up market, featuring live music and performances.

The exhibition launch and market are open to the public. Entry via gates near the Maritime Museum ferry stop off, Lower River Terrace. 4:00 pm arrival for the formal welcome and launch at 4:30pm. Pop up market stalls, live music and veteran food vans are open until 9:00 pm. See below for further details.

Veteran Artist Pop Up Market, Live Performances & Food Vans

From 4:00 - 9:00pm live music/performances, food vans and veteran artist pop up market will be situated in the Maritime Museum’s workshop and outdoor space. The market and musical performance will showcase veterans from Queensland and Northern NSW showcasing an eclectic display of creative mediums. Catch the full lineup below!

Coffee Van will be on premises supplying, you guessed it, coffee! Food will be available thanks to the FRY-YAY food truck.
